Durrat Al Arous

In this weekend home for a family of five, our intent was to create a beautiful set of spaces, with the family living areas overlooking and capturing some of the best views of the sea. The façade explorations and development resulted from our need to respect the site and its context, while also offering privacy to the sleeping quarters. The ‘multi-purpose room’ was designed with the intention of preserving the existing tree, and the positioning of the openings were chosen in response to the sun and wind directions. The existing shrubs and plants have been redistributed in the form of organic landscape parcels, which have themselves been designed with a view to integrating them as a part of the overall built form.
