This property—the Architect’s own apartment—forms part of a heritage building situated in the heart of London. The Architect had a keen interest in enhancing the apartment’s layout, making it more efficient and upgrading the services and finishes while still retaining its classic English charm. The chief aspects of this process included adding contemporary lighting, upgrading the apartment’s electrical infrastructure, introducing air conditioning facilities and integrating underfloor heating, in addition to redoing the flooring. The material finishes and joinery were purposefully selected to complement the traditional character of the apartment.
